OK,
so I Know I’ve been bad about Wellington. I just have had no idea
how to write about it. I wasn’t in the mood when I was there, and
now every time I start I just keep getting bogged down in the details.
So, what I think I will do is give the briefest of summaries about it
just to get it off my back.
So I drove down from Napier, and met up with some friends
I had met in Auckland.
They had a room that wasn’t being used so I now had a place to stay. I
stayed there for the first two weeks, and while I was looking for a job. Then
just after I found a job, I got a place. This was about the fifth or sixth one
I had looked at, and the third one that I liked. Even though I think the first
two would have been great places to live, I am so happy I got my place, because
my flatmates were the best. To back track a little, in the week before I moved
in to my flat, I got a job. I wasn’t sure how long I was going to work
here, for the job was door-to-door sales, of cell phone contracts. In the first
couple weeks, I thought about quitting everyday, but I was making enough money,
and I had as much fun as not. So this takes me to Christmas time. Except that
on the day I get my flat, my friends steve and malin come into town. This is
both good and bad timing. Good as in that I was moving into a new flat, so the
room I was staying in was available for them for a little while. But bad, because
now I was living at a new place and working so I didn’t have much time
to hang out. But it was fun to have them around. Steve stayed for about two weeks,
and malin stayed till after Christmas. And for Christmas, I spent it with all
these people, as my flatmates all went home. This week between xmas and new years
was just pure relaxation. I didn’t have work, so I spent most of my time
playing GTA San Andreas. Then it comes to new years. I really had no idea what
I was going to do. I don’t really see my flatmate all day, and I find out
that a party I was thinking about trying to go to was invite only. So I had one
last resort, and that was a party, that my only friend who I actually hung out
with, was going to. This was a party at a friend of her boyfriends and I turned
out to be fairly fun. We all ran down to the bars just before midnight, and had
our new years there. It turned out to be a great new years, and that’s
all on that. So after this I was half heartedly looking for jobs, and really
starting to hate mine. I started thinking about what to do, as in maybe moving
on. The irony was that I really loved my house. Then it just came to a point
where I new I had to leave. I started talking to my boss about leaving, and he
conned me into staying till the end of Feb., so I could do a uni campaign, which
was almost guaranteed money. But then I got good at the job in the last few weeks,
which made me feel better about the whole thing. Looking back on it, I’m
glad I did it, but I think my time in Wellington could have been spent in a better
manner, but I did have fun and learn a lot, so that’s that. Really, the
only thing that was truly hard about leaving was saying bye to my flatmates.
And then I left. And the south island is next. That’s the short version,
and who knows when or if I’ll go into more detail. |
